December to March, with October-November a top shoulder pick

Peak season runs December to March, with the best beach weather, around 81 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, and the biggest crowds, plus Carnaval, usually in February. October and November offer great weather while avoiding the heaviest crowds. May to September is the low season with milder, drier weather and empty beaches. July to December are the best months to explore the Amazon rainforest, when trails are more accessible.

Entry / visaSince April 2025, Brazil requires citizens of the US, Canada and Australia to hold a visa again, obtainable as an e-visa. Holders of ordinary passports of all EU member states and the UK remain visa-free for up to 90 days. Visitors must hold onward tickets, proof of accommodation and proof of funds.
