We collect data directly from you, for example when you request a proposal, make a booking, sign up for our newsletter or contact us; through automated technologies such as cookies and server logs when you use our website; and, where relevant, from third parties who help us deliver your trip, such as suppliers and payment providers.
We use your data to prepare quotations and manage your booking, to coordinate arrangements with local suppliers and guides, to obtain any permits required by the authorities, to take payment, to respond to your enquiries and provide customer care, to meet our legal and accounting obligations, and, with your consent, to send you travel inspiration. Where the law requires a specific basis for processing, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running our business, complying with legal obligations, and your consent for marketing and any sensitive information.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only with those who need it to deliver your journey, such as hotels, cruise and ground operators, transport providers, guides and payment processors, and with governmental or security authorities where a permit or entry formality requires it. We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights and the safety of travellers.
Because Tourkom is based in Egypt and arranges travel across many countries, delivering your trip involves transferring your data to Egypt and to the destinations you visit, which may be outside your home country or the European Economic Area. Where such transfers take place, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled securely and only for the purposes described in this policy.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you do.
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described here. Booking and enquiry records are kept while your trip is being planned and delivered and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle any follow-up. Financial and accounting records are kept for the period required by Egyptian tax and audit law. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
We use appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted (SSL) connections on our website and PCI-compliant payment channels, and we limit access to those who need it to do their job. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information at all times.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These may include the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Our website is not intended for children. We only collect a child's data as part of a family or group booking made by an adult, and only what is needed to arrange and deliver that travel.
We will only send you marketing messages where you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting admin@tourkom.com. Opting out of marketing does not affect the messages we need to send you about a booking you have made.
Sometimes, to arrange your trip well, we may need information about health, mobility or dietary needs, which can be sensitive. We collect and use this only with your consent and only to deliver the arrangements you have asked for. If you withdraw consent for information that is essential to a booking, we may not be able to provide those arrangements.
Our website may link to other websites that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their own privacy notices before sharing data with them.
